The team Zen car is the #1 for 2008 having scored 8 fast times which included 3 FIRA track records, 9 heat wins and 9 features in 15 races in 07 while being co-driven by John & Neal! The car was built by John using a Polaris 600cc carburated two stroke for power.

 

Neal moved up from Pro-Am to PRO Class in 2001 & Won the PRO Championship the same year.

Three time FIRA PRO Champion, 2008 will be his 29th year in FIRA. Wally, although actively involved with the club as Webmaster has only occasionally driven since the end of 2003 due to injuries.

Rob a former Pro-Am owner/driver has returned to Illinois and FIRA as co-driver of the #9 car in 2008


Dick has been a FIRA member since the late 1980s, has won a number of features and been awarded "Best Appearing Car" several times.

Kai McNulty  Finished 2nd overall in 2004. Kai calls his modified Predator a "Kaiod Kar" (Say Coyote) and power comes from a GSXR 750cc Suzuki. Kai's racing experience comes from

Tim Roach 2008 will be Tim’s 3rd year with FIRA. The 2006 Rookie of the year has finished 3rd and 4th in the points and hopes for a stellar 2008 racing season. Tim’s racing background had been on dirt but is getting used to racing on asphalt. The #17 is a B and B chassis powered by a 2004 fuel injected Suzuki GSXR 750 with Tim’s wife Tammi as crew chief.By Tim

Lyle Phillips  Will be starting his third year in FIRA and racing in general. Lyle was fifth in overall points in 2007,  but he should do well, after all, he is a second generation driver coming from a family of successful drivers.

Grant Greenfield  Was the runner up (2nd) in 05 and only in his third year in FIRA.

Rich Kossak  Will be driving a Predator in FIRA. Powered by Suzuki 750 GSXR. Rich started racing in Dirt track Stock cars in the late 70s at Santa Fe Speedway in Willow Springs IL.

Doug Farrell  Joined FIRA in 2002, Awarded Most Improved Driver for 2003, placed 9th in 04 and 2006 he moved up another position to 8th.
He is definitely heading in the right direction.
